Black Ops Royale is leaving Warzone — Season 06 is your last chance to play it
By TourneyTime ·
The short version
Black Ops Royale is on its way out of Warzone. The official Call of Duty blog for Season 06 puts it plainly: Season 06 is “your last chance to play Black Ops Royale”, and it tells players to get their wins and earn their weapon camos before the season is over (Call of Duty blog).
Season 06 — The Haunting — goes live on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 9am PT (5pm BST) and is the final season of Black Ops 7 and Warzone before Modern Warfare 4 lands on 23 October (PlayStation Blog, CharlieIntel).
So the mode has weeks left, not months.

The 15 October date is a report, not an announcement
CharlieIntel reported on 8 September that the mode disappears at the end of Season 06, with 15 October given as that end date (FPSHUB). Treat it as a date to plan around rather than a promise.
Neither Activision nor Raven Software has publicly confirmed a permanent removal or an exact end date (Techtroduce), and other coverage expects Season 06 to run closer to Modern Warfare 4’s 23 October launch, since Warzone’s annual integration normally arrives with the new game’s Season 1 rather than on launch day. Mid-October is the sensible planning window; the exact day is not settled.
It has already vanished once
Black Ops Royale only arrived on 12 March 2026, so it is going after less than a year in the game. It was also pulled once before, temporarily, during Season 3 Reloaded — with the Hot Pursuit LTM taking its playlist slot — and players pushed hard enough to get it back (Dexerto).
The difference this time is the framing. A quiet playlist swap is a rotation. Activision’s own blog telling you to finish your camos before the season ends is a goodbye.
What to finish before it goes
- Bank the wins you are chasing. The Season 06 blog ties Universal Weapon Camos to Victory Streaks earned across Battle Royale and Resurgence — season-bound progress, not something that carries forward.
- Do the Black Ops Royale-specific challenges first, ahead of anything you can still grind in Resurgence after the mode is gone.
- Do not save it for the last weekend. If the reported mid-October date holds, the window is roughly four weeks from Season 06’s launch, not the full run-up to Modern Warfare 4.

Sources we check
We anchor mode and season changes to the official Call of Duty blog and Activision’s official platform posts first, then cross-check against CharlieIntel, Dexerto and Techtroduce. Where a date comes from reporting rather than an announcement — as the 15 October removal does — we label it that way instead of presenting it as fact. We will update this page when Activision confirms an end date.
