Hajin is Warzone's next map: what's confirmed for Modern Warfare 4 Season 01

By TourneyTime ·

Hajin is Warzone's next map — Tourney Time Network

The short version

Warzone’s next battle royale map is Hajin. Call of Duty revealed it on 21 August 2026, and it arrives with Modern Warfare 4 Season 01 — not with the beta, and not before launch (Insider Gaming, Beebom).

Hajin is a radiation-scarred exclusion zone on the Korean Peninsula, and it is the same location Modern Warfare 4 uses for DMZ, the returning extraction mode (Call of Duty). One location, two very different rule sets.

Modern Warfare 4 launches on 23 October (Activision), so Season 01 — and Hajin with it — lands after that. No Season 01 date has been announced.

What Hajin actually looks like

The reveal names four anchor locations: an irradiated fallout reactor, a fortified prison complex, the remains of Hajin City and a nearby military base. Radiation is not set dressing either — the reveal frames environmental effects as something that shapes the fight (Insider Gaming).

Call of Duty’s own DMZ deep dive describes the Hajin Exclusion Zone as larger than Warzone 2.0’s Al Mazrah, spread across nine distinct regions (Call of Duty). Read that as the DMZ footprint. Warzone has repeatedly shipped a different playable area to the mode a map debuted in, and no one has confirmed how much of Hajin the battle royale circle actually uses.

The “biggest map ever” claim needs a hedge

Beebom reports Hajin as Warzone’s sixth map and the biggest yet, bigger than Verdansk (Beebom). Insider Gaming’s write-up of the same reveal does not repeat a size comparison, and Call of Duty has not published a square-kilometre figure.

So: treat “biggest Warzone map ever” as a report, not a confirmed spec. It is a claim worth tracking, not one to plan a loadout around.

Hajin was not the map in the beta

If you played the Modern Warfare 4 beta, you were not playing Hajin. The Warzone map in the beta was Zodiac, a Resurgence map, and only in Weekend Two — the full beta breakdown is in our Modern Warfare 4 beta post.

That split matters. Zodiac is the small-map, fast-respawn preview. Hajin is the full battle royale replacement, and nobody outside the studio has played it yet.

What to watch next

Three things are still unanswered, and all three change how much this reveal is worth:

  • The Season 01 date. Not announced. Season 01 follows the 23 October launch, but the gap has varied year to year.
  • What happens to Verdansk. No statement either way. A new BR map has historically meant a rotation change, but that has not been said here.
  • How Warzone’s Hajin differs from DMZ’s Hajin. Same location, different mode. Whether the radiation mechanics carry over to battle royale is explicitly unclear.

Sources we check

For map reveals we anchor to Call of Duty’s official posts first, then cross-check the established desks. Here, Call of Duty’s DMZ deep dive is the primary source for what Hajin is and how it is laid out; Insider Gaming and Beebom both cover the 21 August announcement that it becomes Warzone’s Season 01 battle royale map, with Beebom noting the announcement came from Call of Duty’s official channel. We are deliberately not treating the size comparison, POI list completeness, Verdansk’s fate or any Season 01 date as confirmed.

FAQ

Is Hajin the new Warzone map?

Yes. Call of Duty announced on 21 August 2026 that Hajin becomes Warzone’s battle royale map with Modern Warfare 4 Season 01. It is also the setting for MW4’s DMZ extraction mode.

When does Hajin come to Warzone?

With Season 01 of Modern Warfare 4. No start date has been announced. Modern Warfare 4 launches 23 October, so Hajin lands after that.

Is Hajin bigger than Verdansk?

Not officially confirmed. Beebom reports it as the biggest Warzone map yet; Call of Duty has not published a size figure. The official DMZ deep dive calls the Hajin Exclusion Zone larger than Al Mazrah across nine regions — but that is the DMZ footprint, not a confirmed Warzone one.

Can I play Hajin in the Modern Warfare 4 beta?

No. The beta’s Warzone map is Zodiac, a Resurgence map in Weekend Two. Hajin has not been announced for the beta.
