Warzone's AK-27 is the best primary AR to run in Season 4 Reloaded
By TourneyTime ·
The short version
Warzone Season 4 Reloaded reshuffled the weapon meta again, and one classic Assault Rifle has risen above the rest: the AK-27. It didn’t get buffed in the update itself, but with the rest of the meta shifting around it, it’s now the most reliable all-round primary you can run across both Battle Royale and Resurgence (Dexerto).
The pitch is simple: strong damage, low recoil, and easy handling. If you only want to master one gun this season, this is the safe pick.
Why the AK-27 is on top
Its closest rival is the MXR-17. According to weapon data from CODMunity, the MXR-17 edges the AK-27 on close-range time-to-kill out to around 43 metres — but only by roughly 16 milliseconds. Beyond that range the AK-27 wins at every distance, which makes it the more versatile of the two.
The other advantage is control. The AK-27 has noticeably lower recoil, so with the right long-range attachments you can stay on target through extended fights without wrestling the gun. Community stat trackers currently rank it at the very top of the Warzone AR tier list (CODMunity; WeCoach).
The loadout pairing
CoD meta analyst WhosImmortal highlighted the AK-27 in a 5 July video, saying you’ve “got the mid-long range completely covered with the AK, where it will shred.”
To cover the gap up close, pair it with the Dravec 45 SMG. The Dravec brings high mobility and a fast close-range TTK, so the two together leave you covered at every range — a pairing both WhosImmortal and CODMunity’s loadout data land on.
Should you switch?
If you’re chasing the strongest, lowest-effort primary right now, yes. The AK-27 asks very little of you mechanically and rewards you at the ranges most Warzone fights are actually won.
Just don’t over-invest. The next major update, Season 5, is expected near the end of July (widely reported for around 23 July, though not yet officially confirmed) and is set to bring new weapons plus another round of buffs and nerfs — so expect the meta to move again before long.

FAQ
What is the best Assault Rifle in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded?
The AK-27 is currently the strongest all-round primary AR, combining high damage, low recoil and the best long-range consistency of the top-tier options.
Is the AK-27 better than the MXR-17?
Per CODMunity’s data the MXR-17 has a slightly faster close-range TTK out to about 43 metres, but the AK-27 wins at every range beyond that and is easier to control — making it the more versatile pick.
What should I pair with the AK-27?
The Dravec 45 SMG. Its mobility and close-range speed cover the AK-27’s up-close weakness, giving you a loadout that works at all ranges.
