Black Ops 1 & 2 hit PS4 and PS5 — $40 each, no DLC included

The short version
After more than a decade locked out of PlayStation, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are now live on PS4 and PS5. Both launched this week priced at $40 each, with PlayStation Plus members able to grab them for $20 apiece for a limited time.
These are straight ports, not remasters — the original campaigns, multiplayer and Zombies carried over as-is, with no visual overhaul.

The season pass does not include the map-pack DLC at either price, and the base games ship without any DLC bundled in. Dot Esports reports the launch PS Plus discount runs until 6 August 2026.
Ports, not remasters
Both games arrived as faithful recreations rather than remasters — the same campaigns, multiplayer and Zombies, running at their original 60fps with no texture work, no 120fps mode and no FOV slider. Treyarch and Iron Galaxy kept the rollout quiet, never confirming a date until the store listings simply went live.
There is one upgrade under the hood: dataminers spotted evidence the games now run on modern PlayStation Network infrastructure rather than the old PS3 backend — a welcome change for anyone who remembers how badly the Xbox backward-compatibility versions were overrun by hackers and modded lobbies.
What it means for you
If you’ve been waiting to replay the Black Ops story or grind Zombies on PlayStation, this is the cheapest entry point you’ll get. Pick them up inside the PS Plus window, and skip the season pass unless you specifically want the DLC maps.
